Please Note! The Santa Clara Library now closes at 5pm on Saturdays. We'll be finishing our showing around 4:30pm. We appreciate your understanding and your help in being out of the room by 4:45pm.
It's summer! Japanese summer festivals are often associated with shrines or temples, and they're a time to gather with family, honor dead ancestors, and celebrate with stars, lights, fireworks, music, dancing, yukata, games, and food. In Twelve Kingdoms, Youko studies her citizens and honors the deceased. In Bamboo Blade, Kojiro pursues food by gathering a kendo team. In Tweeny Witches, Arusu spends quality time with her half-brother, Lennon. Cardcaptor Sakura and her friends enjoy a summer festival at their local shrine, while the students of Seio Girls Academy have a different type of festival.
Showings are presented in Japanese language audio with English subtitles and are suggested for ages 13 and over unless otherwise specified. Starting times are approximate: Come early! No-Name Anime meetings are presented in and co-sponsored by the Santa Clara City Central Park Library. Many thanks to the library for hosting our meetings! This month, we're in the Cedar Room. Just follow the signs!
