February 2006 No-Name Anime schedule

FEBRUARY 11TH MEETING
You can't say we don't try different things once in a while: we're showing 2 episodes of Case Closed (better known as Detective Conan)!
Why? That's a mystery you'll have to solve. But in addition to that, we're also giving you the usual faves, like Ghost in the Shell (where we find out what 'old man Aramaki does off the job), Dokkoida, Chrono Crusade and all that. Plus, we're starting the very funny, but underplayed Genshiken. This one's funny because it hits so close to home, but not so funny if it hits too close.
Please note, card stamping will take place at some random time. You have to be there when it happens, or you'll miss it.

In "No Way Out", Keaton must travel through an area of dangerous bogs to deliver a fugitive to the police, avoiding locals who consider him a hero.

Daisaku taking another job and a surplus of Chinese dresses set the stage for another battle between the evil Big Fire Group and the Experts of Justice in "Steel-Armed Ginrei." This episode also deals with the question of whether GR should mean Giant Robo or GinRei.

15:45 Case Closed: (Subbed, Action/Mystery)
A free resort stay is the supposed prize at a mystery solving competition. At the last minute, real life detective Mori, his karate champ daughter Ran and family friend Conan are added. Conan is actually 17 year-old detective wiz Kudo Shinichi, Ran's almost boyfriend and the secret of incompetent Mori's recent successes. Shinichi survived being poisoned only to to be shrunk to the size of a boy. Too young looking to be taken seriously, Conan must unravel "The Knight Baron Mystery" which becomes a real investigation of computer secrets and murder (first 2 of 3 parts).

For Sasahara, his entry to the college means he can finally join a club that will shepherd his love of the show Kujibiki Unbalance. But he's an otaku and just doesn't fit the mold of the Manga or the Anime club. So will he join Genshiken, a very small club that seems to have the most extreme Otakus on campus? Can he admit he's as much an Otaku as the rest of them? But will Kohsaka, the best clueless gamer in Japan, and his girlfriend Saki, the Otaku-hating mundane, move him in the right direction? Remember: it's funny because it's true, and it's sad because it's true.
