JANUARY 14TH MEETING
Wow, it's been another year of No-Name, which makes it about 11 more years than we thought we would last!
To start the new year off right, we'll bring you Studio Ghibli's latest from Hayao Miyazaki, his adaptation of Diana Wynne Jones' novel "Howl's Moving Castle". Though not without its flaws (it's a very liberal interpretation of the book, and changes quite a lot), it's still arguably one of the most beautiful films Ghibli has made. But of course, we don't want to break tradition (or continuity), so we'll keep on showing the regular shows you enjoy so much as well.
Please note, card stamping will take place at some random time. You have to be there when it happens, or you'll miss it.

All times are approximate, so try to be early!
*Some shows may not be appropriate for all audiences!
12:30 Master Keaton #22
(Subtitled, Mystery)
Keaton becomes involved in a dispute about modernizing a French winery famous for a small amount of an exceptional wine from grapes picked during a World War II skirmish, in the appropriately titled "Chateau Lajonchee 1944."
---Subbed by Geneon (don't call us Pioneer) Animation
12:55 Ghost in the Shell: SAC #16*
(Subtitled, Sci-fi/Cyber-action)
Batou, who is not exactly the most subtle person in Internal Security Section 9, goes undercover to catch a suspected spy and perhaps find "The Heart's Blind Spot."
---Subbed by Bandai Entertainment
13:20 Chrno Crusade #19*
(Subbed, Fantasy/Action/Comedy)
In "Head", Rosette's reunion at the carnival with her brother Joshua after four years is the prelude to the next step in the devil Aion's plot involving the six apostles and the Head of Pandemonium.
---Subbed by AD Vision
13:50 Abunai! Break time!
End of the holidays got you down? We'll help by giving away free trinkets!
14:45 R.O.D. TV #18*
(Subtitled, Sci-fi/Adventure)
The Three Paper Sisters deal with the revelation that Junior is an operative for the other side, and a "Confession" connects Junior, Nancy, Yomiko, Anita and the destruction of the British Royal Library.
---Subbed by Geneon Animation
15:10 Howl's Moving Castle
(Subtitled, Fantasy)
In Hayao Miyazaki's adaptation of Diana Wynne Jones' novel, plain and ordinary Sophie finds her life turned upside-down by chance encounter with the Wicked Witch of the Waste. Cursed into a 90 year-old woman, Sophie must convince the self-centered wizard Howl and his fiery familiar to help her break the spell. The only problem is, she can't tell anyone what the curse is!

Wondering how much they changed the movie from the book? Heck, we're showing this at a library! Go and find the book and check it out! And of course, this will be in Japanese language with English subtitles, the way we prefer to show all things.
---Subtitled
17:10 Dokkoida! #6*
(Subbed, Action/Comedy)
Suzuo would rather cool off by the pool during these long hot summer days, but the testing must continue. Yet this day is worse than most, so both the villains and the heroes decide to take a break and go to the pool in the next town. Yet cash problems might make this a more thrilling test than anyone could every have imagined in this winner take all contest, in "The Pool Cycle Race". ---Subbed by Geneon Animation
