An Akihabara-style maid cafe is like a coffee shop with extra cuteness. Not just a little cuteness, but a humongous quantity of cuteness. The point of the anime inspired maid dresses is that they are ... you guessed it ... super cute. Often maid cafes have strict rules controlling photography, forbidding learning anything about maids' outside life and generally insuring that atmosphere is rated G. It was a surprise that we were able to take photographs throughout the event.
